Lannem Keramikk is founded on traditional Norwegian
craftsmanship. Each craftsman puts his own mark on the products,
thus making each item unique. The products appealing design
and harmonious colours is a contrast to the impersonal massproduction
characterizing our time.
Lannem Keramikk is Norwegian ceramics made from
red-burning local clay from Rakkestad. The clay is taken from our
own land. This ensures a steady high quality of the clay, and enables
us to fully take advantage of the superior characteristics of the
Norwegian clay.
The production has several
stages. The clay is mixed and cleansed, filtered and
pugged.
The items go through
the turning lathe twice. First in moulds.
Then the items are given
their shape by hand.
Before the first burning,
the items are smoothed and dried. They are placed in a cold kiln,
which then is heated to 980 C. After 20 hours the items are cold and
are taken out.
The colour after the
first burning is red (terracotta).
The item is being glazed.
The items are burned
for the second time - now at 1070 C.
Finally the items are sorted. 1st grade products
are packed and shipped to the dealers.
